We are a professional organization dedicated to the paralegal profession. We support paralegal/legal assistants by promoting professional development, education, and the Certified Legal Assistants (“CLA”), Certified Paralegal (“CP”) and Advanced Certified Paralegal (“ACP”) examinations. Please contact us concerning membership or for additional information about MPA.
Our February Luncheon will be held at the Capital Club (Downtown Jackson), 125 South Congress Street, Jackson, MS 39201 on Thursday, February 23, 2017, at 12:00 noon. The luncheon will be buffet style. Our guest speakers will be Amorya Orr, Esq. & Nick Giallourakis, Esq., Attorneys with the Jackson Law Firm of Forman Watkins & Krutz. Their topic will be “It’s More Than Just Words: Why Diversity and Inclusion Takes Action”. Please make plans to join us for a very informative and relative presentation.
The luncheon fee is $17.00, which includes parking for the Capital Club. Please let me know by 12:00 noon, Tuesday, February 21, 2017 if you plan to attend. Please remember if you make reservations to attend the luncheon and do not attend, you will be responsible for the $17.00.
We will have our 50/50 raffle and will continue at each of our luncheons this year meaning a lucky winner will be drawn at EVERY luncheon. Last month’s raffle was a success and our winner, Lorna Richardson, went home with some extra cash in her pocketbook!!! Each ticket will cost $1 and gives you a chance at half of the total money collected. The money collected will be divided evenly between MPA and the winner of the raffle. It is a fun way to raise money for our association.**
For example, if we collect a total of $50, the winner will receive $25 and $25 will go into the MPA budget. Please bring cash with you to participate in the raffle and support our association. We will also continue to give away door prizes at each meeting.
We look forward to seeing you there!

**There is no limit on the number of tickets you may purchase and your participation is NOT mandatory, but will be greatly appreciated. **
If you have any comments, concerns or questions, please feel free to contact any Board member.
A WELCOME MESSAGE FROM MPA PRESIDENT BETTY TODD:
Hello and Happy New Year! The start of a new year brings hope and determination. For MPA we are looking forward to many new challenges and victories this year.
I have hope that MPA provides not only educational opportunities but a sense of community to all its members. I am determined to do everything possible to open doors and minds to the possibilities our profession offers.
To accomplish this, we must all commit to doing our part to contribute to our profession and to our communities. Would you join me in a commitment to helping MPA bring recognition to our Members, our Profession, and our State?
MPA is OUR organization. MPA represents OUR profession in Mississippi. MPA represents all OUR members.
Let’s make 2017 a year for us all to celebrate success!
Decide – Commit – Succeed
