We had a great PARALEGAL DAY and FALL SEMINAR on September 27! It was great to see everyone in attendance and celebrating our day! The speakers were varied, informative, and the topics were all very relevant for today. I want to thank all the speakers and our board members for making the day a wonderful success! MPA Elections are in full swing! You should receive the election ballots and information by Friday, September 28. Please take the time to review the candidates and their qualifications. Nominations from the membership shall be accepted through the end of the voting period [the Monday prior to the annual meeting].
Also, mark your calendar for October 25! This will be our last monthly luncheon for 2018, and is our annual membership meeting. We encourage all members to attend, discuss, share, and enjoy a relaxed lunch with colleagues. Our NALA representive, Zenda Heafner, will give us an update regarding NALA and the NALA Convention. We will announce the results of the elections AND launch our new website! It will be an exciting fun luncheon, so be sure and join us!

In an effort to inform and educate, MPA sponsors monthly luncheons. Our luncheons are held at the Capital Club (Downtown Jackson), 125 South Congress Street, Jackson, MS the fourth Thursday of January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, and October from 12:00 noon until 1:00. Reservations are required. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org by 12:00 noon on the Monday before the luncheon if you plan to attend.
In an effort to ensure all members enjoy our luncheons, please be sure and make a reservation by the deadline, noon on the Tuesday before the luncheon. Previously we have had a number of guest/members that have attended without confirming a reservation. While we are happy and excited to have a room full, we just need to be considerate of the members/guest that did make reservations for seating. The Capital Club prepares the seating for the number of reservations made. Should we have more attend than we have reservations, they are left standing or sitting outside the room. Beginning April 26, 2018, we will check the reservation list for your name when you arrive. I know we all want everyone to have their seat to enjoy a good meal and a good speaker. Therefore, please help us by encouraging others to confirm their reservation by noon on Tuesdays with the MPA Secretary.
