We are a professional organization dedicated to the paralegal profession. We support paralegal/legal assistants by promoting professional development, education, and the Certified Legal Assistants (“CLA”), Certified Paralegal (“CP”) and Advanced Certified Paralegal (“ACP”) examinations. Please contact us concerning membership or for additional information about MPA.
MPA had a great Spring Seminar. The speakers were informative and entertaining. The Capital Club had a really nice set up for us and we definitely enjoyed the new menu for lunch!
Our day at Stewpot was appreciated by all….we had a very small turnout for MPA, and we were the only business volunteers there that day. The members in attendance worked hard to make sure the full house received a good warm meal. We even stayed to help clean up! Our next volunteer day at Stewpot will be July 27, 2018. We will send out reminders, so please consider taking a lunch break to help others less fortunate than us, they really do appreciate it! If you are not in the Jackson area, let us know about charity work in your area so we can post it here for all to know!
We are looking forward to everyone joining us for this month’s Luncheon on Thursday, May 24, 2018. Our speaker will be Adam Kilgore, General Counsel of the Mississippi Bar. Topic will be “Do you Know What Your Paralegal is Doing/Do you Know What Your Attorney is Doing?” Sounds intriguing doesn’t it? Be sure and join us for an interesting topic, good food, and good conversation with your fellow paralegals.
In an effort to expand the benefits of MPA, we need your input! As most of you know, we are working on updating our website to make it more interactive. Give us your input, announcements, and opinions on how to improve not only our website but MPA. We NEED your help!
Looking forward to seeing and hearing from everyone, have a wonderful MAY!
Betty Todd, CP
In an effort to ensure all members enjoy our luncheons, please be sure and make a reservation by the deadline, noon on the Tuesday before the luncheon. Previously we have had a number of guest/members that have attended without confirming a reservation. While we are happy and excited to have a room full, we just need to be considerate of the members/guest that did make reservations for seating. The Capital Club prepares the seating for the number of reservations made. Should we have more attend than we have reservations, they are left standing or sitting outside the room. Beginning April 26, 2018, we will check the reservation list for your name when you arrive. I know we all want everyone to have their seat to enjoy a good meal and a good speaker. Therefore, please help us by encouraging others to confirm their reservation by noon on Tuesdays with the MPA Secretary.
“Time flies. It’s up to you to be the navigator.” Robert Orben
